       " ('2 EXT. / INT.  MIR ONE / NORTH ATLANTIC DEEP 2', 1),\n",
       " ('PUSHING IN on one of the falling submersibles, called MIR', 1),\n",
       " ('ONE, right up to its circular viewport to see the occupants. ', 1),\n",
       " ('INSIDE, it is a cramped seven foot sphere, crammed with', 1),\n",
       " ('equipment.  ANATOLY MIKAILAVICH, the subs pilot, sits', 1),\n",
       " ('hunched over his controls. . .  singing softly in Russian. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Next to him on one side is BROCK LOVETT.  Hes in his late', 1),\n",
       " ('forties, deeply tanned, and likes to wear his Nomex suit', 1),\n",
       " ('unzipped to show the gold from famous shipwrecks covering', 1),\n",
       " ('his gray chest hair.  He is a wiley, fast-talking treasure', 1),\n",
       " ('hunter, a salvage superstar who is part historian, part', 1),\n",
       " ('adventurer and part vacuum cleaner salesman.  Right now, he', 1),\n",
       " ('is propped against the CO2 scrubber, fast asleep and', 1),\n",
       " ('snoring. ', 1),\n",
       " ('On the other side, crammed into the remaining space is a', 1),\n",
       " ('bearded wide-body named LEWIS BODINE, sho is also asleep. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Lewis is an R. O. V.  (REMOTELY OPERATED VEHICLE) pilot and is', 1),\n",
       " ('the resident Titanic expert. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Anatoly glances at the bottom sonar and makes a ballast', 1),\n",
       " ('adjustment. ', 1),\n",
       " ('3 EXT.  THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA 3', 1),\n",
       " ('A pale, dead-flat lunar landscape.  It gets brighter, lit', 1),\n",
       " ('from above, as MIR ONE enters FRAME and drops to the', 1),\n",
       " ('seafloor in a downblast from its thrusters.  It hits bottom', 1),\n",
       " ('after its two hour free-fall with a loud BONK. ', 1),\n",
       " ('4 INT.  MIR ONE 4', 1),\n",
       " ('Lovett and Bodine jerk awake at the landing. ', 1),\n",
       " ('(heavy Russian accent)', 1),\n",
       " ('We are here. ', 1),\n",
       " ('EXT.  / INT.  MIR ONE AND TWO', 1),\n",
       " ('5 MINUTES LATER: THE TWO SUBS skim over the seafloor to', 1),\n",
       " ('the sound of sidescan sonar and the THRUM of big thrusters. ', 1),\n",
       " ('6 The featureless gray clay of the bottom unrols in the', 1),\n",
       " ('lights of the subs.  Bodine is watching the sidescan sonar', 1),\n",
       " ('display, where the outline of a huge pointed object is', 1),\n",
       " ('visible.  Anatoly lies prone, driving the sub, his face', 1),\n",
       " ('pressed to the center port. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Come left a little.  Shes right in', 1),\n",
       " ('front of us, eighteen meters. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Fifteen.  Thirteen. . .  you should see it. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Do you see it? I dont see it. . . ', 1),\n",
       " ('there!', 1),\n",
       " ('Out of the darkness, like a ghostly apparition, the bow of', 1),\n",
       " ('the ship appears.  Its knife-edge prow is coming straight at', 1),\n",
       " ('us, seeming to plow the bottom sediment like ocean waves. ', 1),\n",
       " ('It towers above the seafloor, standing just as it landed 84', 1),\n",
       " ('years ago. ', 1),\n",
       " ('THE TITANIC.  Or what is left of her.  Mir One goes up and', 1),\n",
       " ('over the bow railing, intact except for an overgrowth of', 1),\n",
       " ('\"rusticles\" draping it like mutated Spanish moss. ', 1),\n",
       " ('2. ', 1),\n",
       " ('2 CONTINUED: 2', 1),\n",
       " ('TIGHT ON THE EYEPIECE MONITOR of a video camcorder.  Brock', 1),\n",
       " ('Lovetts face fills the BLACK AND WHITE FRAME. ', 1),\n",
       " ('It still gets me every time. ', 1),\n",
       " ('The image pans to the front viewport, looking over Anatolys', 1),\n",
       " ('shoulder, to the bow railing visible in the lights beyond. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Anatoly turns. ', 1),\n",

       " ('estealing from the dead. ', 1),\n",
       " ('CUT WIDER, to show that Brock is operating the camera', 1),\n",

       " ('Brock resumes his serious, pensive gaze out the front port,', 1),\n",
       " ('with the camera aimed at himself at arms length. ', 1),\n",

       " ('the sad ruin of the great ship sitting', 1),\n",
       " ('here, where she landed at 2:30 in the', 1),\n",
       " ('morning, April 15, 1912, after her long', 1),\n",
       " ('fall from the world above. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Anatoly rolls his eyes and mutters in Russian.  Bodine', 1),\n",
       " ('chuckles and watches the sonar. ', 1),\n",
       " ('You are so full of shit, boss. ', 1),\n",
       " ('7 Mir Two drives aft down the starboard side, past the huge', 1),\n",
       " ('anchor while Mir One passes over the seemingly endless', 1),\n",
       " ('forecastle deck, with its massive anchor chains still laid', 1),\n",
       " ('out in two neat rows, its bronze windlass caps gleaming. ', 1),\n",
       " ('The 22 foot long subs are like white bugs next to the', 1),\n",
       " ('enormous wreck. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Dive nine.  Here we are again on the', 1),\n",
       " ('deck of Titanic. . .  two and a half', 1),\n",
       " ('miles down.  The pressure is three', 1),\n",
       " ('tons per square inch, enough to', 1),\n",
       " ('crush us like a freight train going', 1),\n",
       " ('over an ant if our hull fails. ', 1),\n",
       " ('3. ', 1),\n",
       " ('These windows are nine inches thick and', 1),\n",
       " ('if they go, its sayonara in two', 1),\n",
       " ('microseconds. ', 1),\n",
       " ('8 Mir Two lands on the boat deck, next to the ruins of the', 1),\n",
       " ('Officers Quarters.  Mir One lands on the roof of the deck', 1),\n",
       " ('hous nearby. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Right.  Lets go to work. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Bodine slips on a pair of 3-D electronic goggles, and grabs', 1),\n",
       " ('the joystick controls of the ROV. ', 1),\n",
       " ('9 OUTSIDE THE SUB, the ROV, a small orange and black robot', 1),\n",
       " ('called SNOOP DOG, lifts from its cradle and flies forward. ', 1),\n",
       " ('BODINE (V. O. )', 1),\n",
       " ('Walkin the dog. ', 1),\n",
       " ('SNOOP DOG drives itself away from the sub, paying out its', 1),\n",
       " ('umbilical behind it like a robot yo-yo.  Its twin stereovideo cameras swivel like insect eyes.  The ROV descends',\n",

       " ('through an open shaft that once was the beautiful First', 1),\n",
       " ('Class Grand Staircase. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Snoop Dog goes down several decks, then moves laterally into', 1),\n",
       " ('the First Class Reception Room. ', 1),\n",
       " ('SNOOPS VIDEO POV, moving through the cavernous interior. ', 1),\n",
       " ('The remains of the ornate handcarved woodwork which gave the', 1),\n",
       " ('ship its elegance move through the floodlights, the lines', 1),\n",
       " ('blurred by slow dissolution and descending rusticle', 1),\n",
       " ('formations.  Stalactites of rust hang down so that at times', 1),\n",
       " ('it looks like a natural grotto, then the scene shifts and', 1),\n",
       " ('the lines of a ghostly undersea mansion can be seen again. ', 1),\n",
       " ('MONTAGE STYLE, as Snoop passes the ghostly images of', 1),\n",
       " ('Titanics opulence:', 1),\n",
       " ('10 A grand piano in amazingly good shape, crashed on its', 1),\n",
       " ('side against a wall.  The keys gleam black and white in the', 1),\n",
       " ('lights. ', 1),\n",
       " ('11 A chandelier, still hanging from the ceiling by its', 1),\n",
       " ('wire. . .  glinting as Snoop moves around it. ', 1),\n",
       " ('12 Its lights play across the floor, revealing a champagne', 1),\n",
       " ('bottle, then some WHITE STAR LINE china. . .  a womans hightop \"granny shoe\".  Then something eerie: what looks like a',\n",

       " ('childs skull resolves into the porcelain head of a doll. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Snoop enters a corridor which is much better preserved. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Here and there a door still hangs on its rusted hinges. ', 1),\n",

       " ('LOVETT (V. O. ) (contd)', 1),\n",
       " ('An ornate piece of molding, a wall sconce. . .  hint at', 1),\n",
       " ('the grandeur of the past. ', 1),\n",
       " ('13 THE ROV turns and goes through a black doorway, entering', 1),\n",
       " ('room B-52, the sitting room of a \"promenade suite\", one of', 1),\n",
       " ('the most luxurious staterooms on Titanic. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Im in the sitting room.  Heading for', 1),\n",
       " ('bedroom B-54. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Stay off the floor.  Dont stir it up', 1),\n",
       " ('like you did yesterday. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Im tryin boss. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Glinting in the lights are the brass fixtures of the nearperfectly preserved fireplace.  An albino Galathea crab',\n",
       "  1),\n",
       " ('crawls over it.  Nearby are the remains of a divan and a', 1),\n",
       " ('writing desk.  The Dog crosses the ruins of the once elegant', 1),\n",
       " ('room toward another DOOR.  It squeezes through the', 1),\n",
       " ('doorframe, scraping rust and wood chunks loose on both', 1),\n",
       " ('sides.  It moves out of a cloud of rust and keeps on going. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Im crossing the bedroom. ', 1),\n",
       " ('The remains of a pillared canopy bed.  Broken chairs, a', 1),\n",
       " ('dresser.  Through the collapsed wall of the bathroom, the', 1),\n",
       " ('porcelain commode and bathtub took almost new, gleaming in', 1),\n",
       " ('the dark. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Okay, I want to see whats under', 1),\n",
       " ('that wardrobe door. ', 1),\n",
       " ('SEVERAL ANGLES as the ROV deploys its MANIPULATOR ARMS and', 1),\n",
       " ('starts moving debris aside.  A lamp is lifted, its ceramic', 1),\n",
       " ('colors as bright as they were in 1912. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Easy, Lewis.  Take it slow. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Lewis grips a wardrobe door, lying at an angle in a corner,', 1),\n",
       " ('and pulls it with Snoops gripper.  It moves reluctantly in', 1),\n",
       " ('a cloud of silt.  Under it is a dark object.  The silt', 1),\n",
       " ('clears and Snoops cameras show them what was under the', 1),\n",
       " ('door. . . ', 1),\n",
       " ('Ooohh daddy-oh, are you seein what Im', 1),\n",
       " ('seein?', 1),\n",
       " ('5. ', 1),\n",
       " ('CLOSE ON LOVETT, watching his moniteors.  By his expression', 1),\n",
       " ('it is like he is seeing the Holy Grail. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Oh baby baby baby. ', 1),\n",
       " ('(grabs the mike)', 1),\n",
       " ('Its payday, boys. ', 1),\n",
       " ('ON THE SCREEN, in the glare of the lights, is the object of', 1),\n",
       " ('their quest: a small STEEL COMBINATION SAFE. ', 1),\n",
       " ('14 EXT.  STERN OF DECK OF KEDYSH - DAY 14', 1),\n",
       " ('THE SAFE, dripping wet in the afternoon sun, is lowered onto', 1),\n",
       " ('the deck of a ship by a winch cable. ', 1),\n",
       " ('We are on the Russian research vessel AKADEMIK MISTISLAV', 1),\n",
       " ('KELDYSH.  A crowd has gathered, including most of the crew', 1),\n",
       " ('of KELDYSH, the sub crews, and a hand-wringing money guy', 1),\n",
       " ('named BOBBY BUELL who represents the limited partners. ', 1),\n",
       " ('There is also a documentary video crew, hired by Lovett to', 1),\n",
       " ('cover his moment of glory. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Everyone crowds around the safe.  In the background Mir Two', 1),\n",
       " ('is being lowered into its cradle on deck by a massive', 1),\n",
       " ('hydraulic arm.  Mir One is already recovered with Lewis', 1),\n",
       " ('Bodine following Brock Lovett as he bounds over to the safe', 1),\n",
       " ('like a kid on Christman morning. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Whos the best? Say it. ', 1),\n",
       " ('You are, Lewis. ', 1),\n",
       " ('(to the video crew)', 1),\n",
       " ('You rolling?', 1),\n",
       " ('CAMERAMAN', 1),\n",
       " ('Rolling. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Brock nods to his technicians, and they set about drilling', 1),\n",
       " ('the safes hinges.  During this operation, Brock amps the', 1),\n",
       " ('suspense, working the lens to fill the time. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Well, here it is, the moment of', 1),\n",
       " ('truth.  Heres where we find out if the', 1),\n",
       " ('time, the sweat, the money spent to', 1),\n",
       " ('charter this ship and these subs, to', 1),\n",
       " ('come out here to the middle of the', 1),\n",
       " ('North Atlantic. . .  were worth it. ', 1),\n",

       " ('Lovett grins wolfishly in anticipation of his greatest find', 1),\n",

       " ('Lovett moves closer, peering into the safes wet interior. ', 1),\n",
       " ('A long moment then. . .  his face says it all. ', 1),\n",
       " ('You know, boss, this happened to', 1),\n",
       " ('Geraldo and his career never', 1),\n",
       " ('recovered. ', 1),\n",
       " ('(to the video cameraman)', 1),\n",
       " ('Get that outta my face. ', 1),\n",
       " ('15 INT.  LAB DECK, PRESERVATION ROOM - DAY 15', 1),\n",
       " ('Technicians are carefully removing some papers from the safe', 1),\n",
       " ('and placing them in a tray of water to separate them safely. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Nearby, other artifacts from the stateroom are being washed', 1),\n",
       " ('and preserved. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Buell is on the satellite phone with the INVESTORS.  Lovett', 1),\n",
       " ('is yelling at the video crew. ', 1),\n",

       " ('but the weight of the bow pulls the stern up vertical, and', 1),\n",
       " ('then the bow section detaches, heading for the bottom. ', 1),\n",
       " ('The stern bobs like a cork, floods and goes under about', 1),\n",
       " ('2:20 a. m.  Two hours and forty minutes after the', 1),\n",
       " ('collision. ', 1),\n",
       " ('The animation then follows the bow section as it sinks. ', 1),\n",
       " ('Rose watches this clinical dissection of the disaster', 1),\n",
       " ('without emotion. ', 1),\n",
       " ('The bow pulls out of its dive and', 1),\n",
       " ('planes away, almost a half a mile,', 1),\n",

       " ('The bow impacts, digging deeply into the bottom, the', 1),\n",
